Well, Laura is eating ALOT. The doctor says she’s only in the 5th percentile (meaning 95% of babies her age are bigger than she is). However, when we told the doctor how much she eats, she couldn’t believe it and said she must have a fast metabolism. The doctor suggested we start feeding her cereal mixed into her formula soon, but Laura needs to be able to sit up for us to do this. So here she is practicing! Do you see her smiling in these pictures? I’m not even doing anything to get her to smile. She is just like this on her own all the time! I love this baby!
This was Laura’s first real outside time. The weather was perfect, so we layed a blanket outside and watched her while we enjoyed a cup of coffee!
And here is some more drool, but also, for those who won’t get to see it, this is Newbie’s mustache that he HAS to grow! It is a tradition for them to grow a mustache prior to going to the boat for the first time. He has been on the boat before (3 or 4 times actually), but this is the first time that he’ll be landing an airplane on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier in the middle of the ocean! So for some reason, they have to have a mustache for that! But don’t worry, it will be shaved off immediately afterwards! =) But for now, he still has a month to go, so that thing is gonna be impressive!
And as always, there are more new pictures posted on my flickr account, so just click over there if you want to see more!
My first Mother’s Day was absolutely wonderful! Newbie surprised me with breakfast in bed (he went to McDonald’s while I was sleeping! It’s my favorite!), then we went to a wonderful church service, and then out to eat my favorite….PIZZA!!!! Then we headed over to the bookstore for a relaxing time of coffee and reading! The weather was absolutely beautiful that day, so it was a great day I’ll always remember!
I have recently joined a challenge over at dayproject.com to make a list of 101 things to complete in 1001 days! I have posted a link to the page at the top of this blog. The list is in no particular order. I can’t wait to see how much of it I can complete! I started on May 4, 2010, and I have 994 days left! I hope you will also make a list and challenge yourself to live your life to the fullest! Please email me or comment with a link to your list if you make one! I’d love to hear all about your goals!
And more pictures of Laura are coming soon! Newbie has been out of town for days at a time, and when he’s been home, they have him working from sun up to sun down! I haven’t had much time to load the pictures! But I will get to it before Friday!
This song by Montgomery Gentry sums up my thoughts exactly. Everyone should have to listen to this song once a day. It should be a life requirement!…………..
I have days where I hate my job
This little town and the whole world too
And last Sunday when the Bengals (*I say Seahawks!) lost
Lord, it put me in a bad mood
I have moments when I curse the rain
Then complain when the sun’s too hot
I look around at what everyone has
And I forget about all I’ve got
But I know I’m a lucky man
God’s given me a pretty fair hand
Got a house and a piece of land
A few dollars in a coffee can
My old trucks still running good
My ticker’s ticking like they say it should
I got supper in the oven, a good woman’s loving
And one more day to be my little kid’s dad
Lord, knows I’m a lucky man
………………………..We all take so much in our lives for granted. There are so many things we, especially as Americans, have to be thankful for. Even our bad days really aren’t that bad when you stop to think about starving people in other countries. It’s so hard to remember how good we have it. I pray that I teach Laura to always be thankful for everything, the good and the bad. We’re all very lucky.
Hello! Just wanted to share some cute pictures of Laura’s playtime on her tummy! She is getting soooo strong and she moves her legs like she’s about to start crawling! We had a nice weekend. We went to Pensacola to visit with my Dad and Step-Mom, then we went to eat with my Mom and Step-Dad! Laura slept from 8 pm when we left Pensacola, all the way til 8:30 am the next morning! Can you believe that!
